We really have two stories going on at once in this book. The book is told by Quinn and Alex.

We have Quinn who lives in downtown Chicago who is searching for her roommate Esther who just disappeared. Quinn searches every where for Esther as she uncovers things about her roommate that she never knew. Quin uncovers enough information on Esther that she is lead to believe that Esther is out to kill her.

Well at the same time a mysterious woman appears in a small harbor town just inside of MI. Alex works at the cafe where he first meets this women. As he starts to get to know this woman slowly he begins to think that he is falling in love with her. Alex tells this woman anything she wants to know about him but she keeps her identity from him. Only telling him certain things about herself.

In the end the two stories come together for a nice thrilling conclusion.  I loved each and every character in this book.

Eighteen years later a girl shows up and tell's Simone that she believes she is her daughter. Just a quick as she shows up back in their life she disappears again. Simone goes on the hunt to find this girl so she can verify that this is her missing daughter. Simone finds herself searching for the girl, but what Simone finds out is what leads to this wonderful Dark Sinister Thriller. Just as you think that you know what is going to happen next the author takes you on a twisted turn. I really love Simone she is very sincere with everyone that she meets. She wants to help everyone. Simone life ends up in danger as she is following the path on the missing girl. There is also an ending to this book. No cliffhanger and it will blow your mind away.

In the beginning of the book we find out that Carrie's son went missing. No one seen what happened to little Ben. Not even Carrie. She was rummaging through her purse for a quarter for the parking meter when Ben went missing. Than out of now where Ben shows back up home. Carrie found him in his crib a year after he was missing. Than again that night Ben just disappears. This book was a very good mystery/thriller with some paranormal thrown into it. I thought I knew what direction the author was going to take us on but I was wrong. Very good novel.

I was not even sure what to expect when I started reading this book.  I found it to be an excellent read.  I love the idea of  witches but the supernatural has also grabbed my attention.

Nichole she moves from a small town in Georgia where she thought she was normal.  She arrives to a new school in New England.  It starts of with Nichole getting her class schedule from the office to discover they have her in all honors classes.  She don't understand why the honors classes as she was in normal classes in her Georgia school.   When she enters her homeroom class she discovers that she is a witch and she is training.

One night her homeroom class meets at the teachers house to watch the Olympian Comet that only comes around every three thousand years..  The class has to break into groups of 5 people.  Nichole's group feels something strange and they are gifted with mysterious powers.  These mysterious powers comes with a great price to pay.

This is the first book in the series and I really can not wait for book two to come out.

Missing Pieces is keep you on the edge of your seat book. It was a great mystery to read. One of those kind of books when you think you knew who done it and it turns out that the person you thought did it someone else.

Sarah and Jack return to Jack's home town Penny Gate because his aunt had a terrible fall. It has been two decades since Jack has been to Penny Gate. When Jack was a teenager he found his mother dead in the basement of their house and his dad was missing. It was assumed that his father had committed the murder of his mother as he was missing and never found. As Sarah was in town she stopped to get a cup a coffee and learned things about Jack that she never knew so she started digging around. The the mystery starts to unravel on what happened to Jacks mother so many years ago.

I thought the book was good but not great. That is why I gave it the 3 star rating. If I could of given it another half star it would of been 3 1/2 stars. I thought the book started out slow but the more I read the more I wanted to know about Kenna.

Kenna has to live her life knowing that she killed a boy when she was 10 yrs old. She has been hunted most of her life knowing what she did and never ever being able to tell anyone what she did. Her mother is the only one to know. Kenna knows that there is something wrong with her she just don't know what it is until her mother takes her to a place called Eclipse where she learns what she is and what she can do.

I was really unsure if I was going to enjoy reading this book but I did find it a very good read. 


Mercedes is a 17 yr old senior in high school who comes from a broken home.  She has this open door policy to her bedroom that she takes most males in that are virgins.  She coaches them in the act of sex and how they should treat their girlfriend on the night that they plan on having sex with them.  One of her strictest rules that are not to be broken, is that they never speak of the act that she performs with them.  When her best friends boyfriend throws himself at her and she declines he lets Mercedes know that if she tells her best friend on what he did he would make her pay for it.  He does make her pay, he turns the whole school against her by having a video of her performing some of the acts and he also has her journal that she recorded everything into.

It has been years since I have read a V.C. Andrews book.  I have always loved the writing style the only problem that I do find with all her books is that the plots the same just different family's with their secretes.  Sages Eyes is no exception.

I really did enjoy reading about Sage and how her family and friends treated her but I also predicted what was going to happen in the book.  I really hate when that happens.  

The writing style was great, the plot flowed really well, I just knew what the secrets were well before they were revealed.  I'm kinda hoping that this book will be part of a series as I would love to see how Sage's life has become since she is an adult and knows what she is.

I would like to thank Black Opal Books Publishing for giving me the ARC of this book for a honest review of the book. I found this book to be an awesome read. I would also recommend this book to anyone 18+ in age. Kate Thayer has a good life as a veterinarian and she runs her family's horse farm. With both her parents deceased she was raised by her paternal grandmother. Kate uncovers many family secrets which revolve around her life. The deeper she digs the deeper the secrets she finds that will turn her life in ways that she can not even imagine.

Dead Ringer is a YA novel and although I'm an adult I do enjoy reading YA novels.

Dead Ringer is about a girl name Laura that shows up to the first day of her new school her senior year.  The first thing that she notice is that everyone in the school is staring at her and talking about her like they know her.  Apparently she looks like a girl that had killed herself 18 months earlier.  Laura is determined not to let the gossip get to her.  She wants a to change from the shy person that she used to be in her old school to a carefree person.  Laura catches the eye from one of the most popular guys in school.   The head soccer player and of course his ex-girlfriend on who is determined to make her life hard.  

Jessie takes you on a story that is told by a few different characters and as the plot unwinds it keeps you wanting more.  Some of the story line is just plane out creepy.

I thought Dead Ringer was a great book with a big twist at the end that leaves you hanging for a 2nd book.

I received this copy of the book Ugly as an ARC from Netgalley and the Author Margaret McHeyzer for an honest review.  I just want to make it clear that I'm not related or am I a friend of hers.  

All I can say is WOW this was such a roller coaster of a ride.  Made me want to reach into the book and strangle so many people. If you can not handle reading about abuse than please do not pick this book up.  It will tear out your heart and stay with you. Mental and physical abuse happens over and over in our world and really is something that is hard on the person on the receiving end to deal with.  And people that are living through the abuse do really well on covering it up, as they do not want the people in their life's to know what is really happening to them.

The book starts out as 12 year old Lily is hiding from her father who has  mentally and physically abused her for years.  As she grows up the abuse continues and gets worst.  Her father is always telling her how ugly and stupid she is.  And Lily being young does not know any better, she believes everything her father tells her.  Then at the age of 17 here comes Trent a very good looking young man that takes Lily away from her father.  As it turns out Trent is no better than her father, so again Lily is thrown back into more abuse but this includes sexual abuse.  She ends up marrying Trent because Lily really does believe that he loves her. Trent makes her think that every time that he beats her or rapes her that is Lily's fault because he tells her she is Ugly and Stupid and she just makes him mad and if she was a better wife and did not anger him he would not do those things to her.

Lily grew up not know what it was like to be treated with love and kindness so she does really believe that she is ugly and stupid.  You can not hold it against her for staying and putting up with the abuse that is dealt to her.  She never had family or friends to speak to about what was happening to her.  She kept quiet for so many years.
