From Goodreads

Cinder, the cyborg mechanic, returns in the second thrilling installment of Marissa Meyer's bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She's trying to break out of prison--even though if she succeeds, she'll be the Commonwealth's most wanted fugitive.

Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit's grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn't know about her grandmother or the grave danger she has lived in her whole life. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother's whereabouts, she is loath to trust this stranger, but is inexplicably drawn to him, and he to her. As Scarlet and Wolf unravel one mystery, they encounter another when they meet Cinder. Now, all of them must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen Levana, who will do anything for the handsome Prince Kai to become her husband, her king, her prisoner.

My Review

I normally find that a 2nd book in a series is never as good as the first book.  I will tell you now that Scarlet is even better than Cinder.  Scarlet has so much more action.  I really loved the story between her and Wolf.

Scarlet's grandmother has been missing for a couple of weeks.  So Scarlet decides after meeting Wolf a  street fighter, that she needs to find her grandmother.  Scarlet learns through him that he has information on where her grandmother is being kept at. So Scarlet goes on a journey with Wolf to get her grandmother back, what she does not know is that there is so much information that her grandmother has been keeping hidden away for many years.

Cinder has escaped from prison so now she is on the run with a man that escaped with her.  We learn more about Cinder and her past.

I think I liked the Book Scarlet much better than Cinder.  With Scarlet there is so much action at times it has your head spinning.

I can't wait to start the Books Cress which is the 3rd book in the Lunar Chronicles Series

  1. Like you said, it's not often that the second book is as good as the first and while personally I thought that might be the case for this book, I'm so glad you loved it more! The series just gets better so enjoy <3

    1. I'm so enjoying this series. Can we say this might even be better than Hunger Games.
